Oreglo, Not Real People, Brownswood ***1/2

If you're into Theon Cross you'll like the contributions of Teigan Hastings on aptly enough 'Comet' featuring the soul-reggae feel of singer Bel Cobain. Tuba head Hastings is also key on 'Opedge'. Before these tracks Hastings is firm on 'Peck' and you get a little bit of a Blue Lab Beats feeling especially on 'Levels' where there's engrossing riffing from guitarist Linus Barry. But keyboardist Samuel Sesay aka c-sé is the most impressive of the players (drummer Nico Rocco completes the band). The London outfit who foreground what they do in a a certain positivity is just about the best new band starting out so far this year that Brownswood have got behind. Weepy it's not - rip into these refreshing sounds right now.
