Hard blowing get-down straightahead-into-groove-and-more outfit the Bunn DeBrett Quintet make it into the brand new UK top 20 specialist jazz and blues chart squeezing in at no. 19 with Bunn DeBrett Quintet. No mean feat to make it at all given that the night bus-preferring combo are putting the record out themselves. With a strong Mother Earth connection Stephen Bunn, erm, ''Bunny'' is a drummer and percussionist helming the combo along with guitarist/keys chief Jon deBrett. There's a superb spoken word contribution from Tenesha the Wordsmith on 'Praise Dance'. Faces on the album include mainstream sax icon Alan Barnes and vibist Roger Beaujolais chipping in.
