Jazz pianist and composer Gerald Clayton has composed music for the upcoming MLK/FBI with a mid-January release date of hard hitting Sam Pollard documentary MLK/FBI now confirmed.
Movie trade paper Variety describes the film as ''a tensely absorbing documentary about how the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under J. Edgar Hoover, came to see itself as part of an establishment war against [Dr Martin Luther] King, one that wound up being waged with the cooperation of American leaders, notably Attorney General Robert. F. Kennedy and President Lyndon Johnson.''
Documentary maker Pollard is known in the early part of his career for editing a number of seminal Spike Lee films including Mo' Better Blues and Clockers. Check the trailer above. MLK photo, top: TIFF
