From upcoming very uncheesy big band release The Jazz Influencers despite that overly neat album title, 'Giant' has an urgency about it, created a little by the Lalo Schifrin-like rhythmic undertow the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw generate that is pretty attractive.

The piece is written by pianist Gideon van Gelder and the album itself will be released next month. It looks like the orchestra will be playing live in Amsterdam to launch it which is good news in these difficult times.
