Coming up: Hermeto Pascoal with NYJO, tomorrow at St Andrew's and Blackfriars' Hall, Norwich – Camae Ayewa aka Moor Mother next Monday, same venue – and Rob Luft and Elina Duni ft. Fred Thomas next Tuesday in the Octagon chapel, Norwich are among the jazz interest at the Norfolk and Norwich festival this month.

The great Brazilian composer Pascoal has deeply influenced leading UK musicians such as the iconic Welsh pianist Huw Warren and educator guitarist-violinist Stuart Hall to name but a few.

Poet Moor Mother was a guest on Sons of Kemet album Black to the Future released last year.

Luft, Thomas and Duni's Lost Ships (2020) proved accessible yet highly arty the record all about sublime harmonies mainly emanating from guitarist Luft and that persuasive voice of Duni's encompassing an Albanian folk side.

Elina Duni, top. See the festival website for full details of these gigs and more
