Here on 'Maja' is a fine slice of Nordic noir from Certainty of Tides, a landmark new album in the prodigious career of Norwegian trumpet master Nils Petter Molvær to be released by Modern in October. A collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra under the direction of Ingar Berby, Jan Bang was also heavily involved in the production of the album which has a very dark and brooding style and subtly re-calibrates some NPM staples such as Solid Ether's 'Kakonita' and NP3's Little Indian'. To be released in November, Live at Ronnie Scott's 1964 is from Gerrard Street, the original home of the club, and has US sax master Griffin (1928-2008) with UK pianist Stan Tracey (1926-2013), bassist Malcolm Cecil (1937-2021) and Scotland born drummer Jackie Dougan (1930-1973).

Newly mastered the tapes were recorded at the club by Les Tomkins and the sleeve features a Val Wilmer photograph while liner notes are by Richard Williams.
