A title and a release date are now confirmed by Modern/BMG for their upcoming album from composer and arranger Vince Mendoza. The title firstly is confirmed as Freedom Over Everything. An orchestral and jazz project, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Black Thought from The Roots, bass guitarist Derrick Hodge (best known for his work with Robert Glasper), Joshua Redman, the soprano Julia Bullock, Jan Hasenöhrl (trumpeter and founder of the CNSO) and the Methenyian Birdman composer drummer Antonio Sánchez are on the record. Release date, secondly, is 2 July.

“I am keen'' Mendoza says via Modern ''to make use of the orchestra to tell my story, but I always seek to retain my jazz sensibilities, especially with rhythm and colors. On the other hand, an improvisor’s commentary on a written part can give a most immediate human spirit to an idea.” Vince Mendoza, top Photo: Modern
