Sharing a speculative, loose, open experimental outlook crossing boundaries and involving an improvisatory non-reductive ethos in common these are all recent and upcoming tracks that match well together and yet retain an individuality. All thoroughly recommended. The Evans is outstanding in the way it fractures and confronts time, pitch and timbre; the Sonar/Torn has an absorbing sci-fi atmosphere; check the energy laden opening of the Eldh; delve into the aching space of the Cavenati; and lose yourself in the glorious beat displacement that Jim Black pilots through to destinations known only to him on 'Tripped Overhue'.
