Alto saxophonist Rachael Cohen is one of the most imaginative and hard-hitting bop-inspired players around and tonight streaming from Ronnie Scott's there's a great opportunity to catch up on her current sound. Joined by BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year Hackney sensation pianist Deschanel Gordon, double bassist Joe Downard who dazzled last year with his album Seven Japanese Tales, and by driving US player Jason Brown on drums, a fine player who made a big contribution to the success of James Copus record Dusk last year, the stream begins at 8pm London time. Free to view, donations are very much encouraged. A link to connect this evening is here.
