From When The Waters Refused Our History by Sunken Cages aka drummer Ravish Momin the engrossing 'Sunken Cages' is streaming. It's ancient to future reimagination from an artist you need to know about especially if you pivot towards an interest in jazz/electronica. Training as an engineer at Carnegie Mellon University in PIttsburgh Mornin also studied drums with Andrew Cyrille during the time that he worked as an engineer in New York before switching to work professionally as a musician, the India-born player's bands have included Tarana (who utilise violin, oud, drums and laptop driven electronica) and Turning Jewels Into Water with Haitian electronica artist Val Jeanty. Mornin acknowledges DJ Lag, Cakes Da Killa, Aphex Twin, J.Dilla, Mount Kimbie, Spoek Mathambo, DJ Rashad, Andy Stott, Dirty Projectors among his many influences. Issued by On the Corner on 30 April
