Interesting release in prospect with We're All Improvisers Now from inventive drummer and composer Tommy Crane, a player who certainly impressed us a good deal back in 2016 when he was playing a live gig in London with Logan Richardson. Actually Richardson crops up on one track while the rest of the personnel includes the main stays of bass guitarist Jordan Brooks and guitarist Simon Angell with Chris Speed on clarinet, Petro Amato on French horn and Charlotte Greve on alto also featuring more fleetingly. Tommy's debut as a leader he says: “I don’t think I will ever make a record like this again – this was one big experiment.” London label Whirlwind have picked up on this album for a late-June release.
