You might notice a few changes to the look of marlbank this week. Thanks to Ronan and Jason at Sugar Projects for all their hard work, spark and creativity in ushering in the cool new appearance. We're playing the incredible sound of Stanley Turrentine and the cats today in their honour, a classic, title track and opener of the album of the same name, released by CTI in 1971 that takes us back to more recent times and hearing the bluesy swinger played live by Pee Wee Ellis and the late Jimmy Cobb as they hit the sweet spot with Grant Green Jr and Ike Stubblefield at Ronnie Scott's in the summer of 2013 not long after marlbank began, the site having started around St Patrick's day that year. A tune kept for very special occasions that has stayed with us since and sent us digging in the crates as it very might ''wail'' you. Rave on
