It's a welcome change here to listen to a piano trio that takes a few chances. Playing originals and notably covers of Radiohead and Broadcast tunes, the Swiss trio - pianist Philipp Eden, bassist Raphael Walser, drummer Jonas Ruther - use loops and a mix by British jazz musician Dan Nicholls to experimental effect the whole sound a world away from the usual clichés you get with piano trios and sounding just as much at home, if thought of, in electronica terms. Requires a little patience given how painstaking the process is but it's worth the trouble when the hypnotic magnetism of the trio hits peak power as on 'Tea High.'
