From the great saxophonist JD Allen, the album itself is released at the end of August, there's a new life to the revered old Jay Gorney-Sidney Clare standard from the 1930s in his hands, JD sounding gruff and tart, the insistent thunder of Nic Cacioppo on drums behind him adding a certain menace. 'The G Thing' from the Savant release is already streaming from this trio affair, Ian Kenselaar completing the line-up on bass.
