One of the finest jazz musicians that the island of Ireland has ever produced, vibist Anthony Kerr, more widely geographically is in the pantheon albeit a very different player stylistically (because he is very much a soulful straightahead-into-swing player, eg like Bags above with Brother Ray), up there with the free player Orphy Robinson, Empirical's Lewis Wright and Jim Hart, the Belfast-born Kerr is best known for his work with Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames and in recent years appeared on Van Morrison's Keep Me Singing (2016). No stranger to Ronnie's where he has played many times with Georgie however under his own name it is a much rarer sighting in recent years to catch the vibist with his own band. Happening on Sunday evening, the show billed as The Art Of The Vibes features Kerr with double bassist Jeremy Brown and drummer Ed Richardson. Streams from 8pm. Watch via this link
