Portico Quartet bassist Milo Fitzpatrick has a new project teaming up with Mammal Hands saxist Jordan Smart that goes under the name of Vega Trails. Gondwana are putting out their record Tremors in the Static in May with 'Epic Dream' streaming ahead of release. It's a fresh and airy sound that is pretty striking and you can listen to the track above.

Drummer and composer Jas Kayser releases 5ive next month and drawn from it the bustling 'Darkness in the Light' featuring Ava Joseph and Giacomo Smith is out ahead of release. The London-based, Berklee-trained player releases the album on the Jazz re:freshed label. Jas is joined on the album by percussionist Joao Caetano, bassist Daisy George, guitarist Jamie Leeming, trumpeter Christos Stylianides, tenorist Mark Hurrell, altoist Giacomo Smith who also co-produces, and by singer Ava Joseph and Jas' twin brother spoken word artist Aalvk.
