Krononaut crunch back into action and it's far tighter than their debut. Three tracks: on this EP from guitarist Leo Abrahams, drummer Martin France and saxophonist Matana Roberts the best tracks are definitely 'Scratch Test' (the one above all) and sharing a sense of continuum 'Loam'. ('Trypography' with an overdub from trumpeter Arve Henriksen isn't half as good. If you want choice Henriksen at the moment make Uma Elmo instead your immediate destination.) France on 'Scratch Test' sounds a bit like Seb Rochford whose band Pulled by Magnets coincidentally are also on issuing label Tak:Til/Glitterbeat. Roberts, enjoyed by this blog on last year's The Truth supplies the edge and free improv-flavoured incisiveness whereas Abrahams injects a supercool slice of dystopian conceptual space.
