Very more-ish this from Bosnian drummer Srdjan Ivanović shaped around a fantastic trio with guitarist Manu Codjia and bassist Yoni Zelnik plus guests who include mercurial flautist Magic Malik and trumpeter Olivier Laisney, the direction of the album draws on Ivanović's Bosnian and Greek roots as well as his life in Paris and much else including notions of what the drummer calls ''cultural resistance''. Codjia is excellent throughout and delivers sterling work on George Harrison's 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' at the end. The almost Michel Legrand-like feel all concerned bring to 'Sous le ciel de Paris' is also very appealing as is the album's pervasive East-meets-West sense of rugged motion and no little turmoil.
