If you like Vince Guaraldi - and yes, we are entering Guaraldi time of the year again as Christmas approaches - you will be right at home here on this quietly swinging number from Ballads and Blues Vol. One new in early 2024 from the prodigious fingers of mainstreamer David Hazetine. Early in the year the US player's Blues For Gerry was another treat - link to more on that fine release here. On 'Blues de Troye along with bassist Neal Minor and drummer Pete Van Nostrand Hazeltine is very much in the zone on a tune written by Cellar Live label chief swinging saxophonist Cory Weeds. A treat for the Saturday morning listen - our favourite time of the week - but just as easily any time you care choose.
