Very prolific these last few years Jeremy Pelt has another new album out in late-January following on from The Artist, this one titled The Art of Intimacy, Vol. 1 issued once again by a label familiar to Pelt-watchers, the straightahead and bop-inclined High Note Records.

With label mate pianist George Cables who Pelt has been working with for decades and bassist Peter Washington playing together as a trio for the first time no drummer is credited on this latest album. Tunes are: 1. Love Is Simple; 2. Little Girl Blue by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart; 3. Always on My Mind by Johnny Green and Norman Newell; 4. I've Just Seen Her by Lee Adams and Charlie Strouse covered in the past by Clark Terry on All American; 5. Then I'll Be Tired of You; 6. Ebony Moonbeams by George Cables; 7. While You Are Gone by Lucky Thompson; 8. Ab-o-lutely by Pelt and Washington; 9. I'll Never Stop Loving You by Nicholas Brodszky and Sammy Cahn.

Pelt will return to Ronnie Scott's for two nights over 13 and 14 April appearing with a vibes-flavoured quintet.
