So beautiful. Adore this. Such melting poignancy is gathered and explored in a nuanced way via insistent beacon-like off beats and deft pulsing development against a beautiful, simple, melody line, the track builds its own head bobbing sense of momentum. With softly finessed crafted and so human audio production as well this is from the wittily titled Unheimlich Manoeuvre (RareNoise, 24 September).

Norwegian bassist Myhre, you may well recall from Nils Petter Molvær's fine album Buoyancy, tenure in the doomsters Splashgirl or the band Finland's Rainy Omen on 'Aviary' has guitarist Jo David Meyer Lysne, pianist Jana Anisimova, (Hania Rani-esque perhaps) whose contribution is so still and very profound and the great Morten Qvenild who was in Finland with Berger on synths adding his own exquisite touch on board in an unforgettable blend. Musicians Perrilena Alleyne Hughes, Richard Henry, Jilly Jarman and Dennis Rollins, web developer Jeni Tehan and communications consultant Jon Beck are the six new trustees announced by Jazz North as new appointments to its board. Jazz North, a north of England-based jazz development agency, say the appointments double the size of the board and that the organisation adapted its recruitment process and enlisted the support of Black Lives in Music to help promote the vacancies.
