'Gold' from on-the-up singer JB Rose hits the spot. It's missing something from a jazz perspective however and that is a really substantial improvisation (particularly a guitar solo) factored in as the song progresses. Of course it's not aimed at jazz fans directly. However, surely going down that road is one idea for a future remix because the arrangement of the song as it stands is relatable. By itself the song, middle of the road sunny-soul personified, was written by JB along with Neville ‘2b3’ Thomas and Chante Berry-Gordon. 'Gold' is the sort of number that you'd hear played on daytime Jazz FM or on a station like Heat and put you in a good mood from the off. Most importantly however there's personality in the voice.
