Last year's Vermillion from the Enemy trio - Kit Downes, Petter Eldh, James Maddren - was one of the the albums we enjoyed most of all that year. Issued on the ECM label the trio now switch to the avant-garde Finnish label WeJazz for their next album The Betrayal to be issued on 22 September. Opener the ruggedly compelling 'Hollywood Bypass' is streaming. The Betrayal features original material by Downes and Eldh and was recorded in a Berlin studio last year. Enemy are back in the UK with dates at Cafe Oto in London on 25 October and Eastside, Birmingham next night.
