Track of the day is the sunny however bittersweet in the lyrics Matt Bianco song 'More Than I Can Bear, 2022 Version' drawn from The Essential Matt Bianco: Re-Imagined, Re-Loved from the 1980s hit-makers - singer and original member Mark Reilly once more inspired. The samba feel is really subtle and open as the lyrics relate the story of seeing someone the protagonist once loved with someone new. The arrangement is jazz-sensibility simpatico and the appeal beyond any one genre. The 2-CD release includes 30 songs from the Matt Bianco back catalogue re-recorded, remixed and re-interpreted for today. In relatively recent years the band has toured with top UK and Irish jazz players including the formidable tenorist Dave O'Higgins who appeared on 2017's Gravity. SG
