January is to see a limited edition vinyl release of John Zorn and Jesse Harris' Songs For Petra, performed by singer Petra Haden, daughter of double bass icon Charlie Haden. An album of songs to be released by Tzadik written by Zorn and Harris, the latter famed for writing 'Don't Know Why,' the opening track of classic 2002 Norah Jones album Come Away With Me and who has also produced the upcoming work. On Songs for Petra are: guitarist Julian Lage; bassist Jorge Roeder known for his collaborations with Shai Maestro; and drummer Kenny Wollesen, who appears on the recent acclaimed Sylvie Courvoisier album, Free Hoops.
