Last featured in these pages when she appeared in last year's A Great Day in London concert on the South Bank there's news that singer Cherise Adams-Burnett is included on the John Lunn soundtrack to the just released Downtown: A New Era film. The voice of Cherise is heard on 'Crazy Rhythm' and 'Am I Blue'.

She says: “I would have never thought I'd be cast in Downton Abbey, to be part of the soundtrack is even more of a bonus to bring this great story to life. I tried to channel the energy of Josephine Baker, a notable rebel of her time and even today with my own soul music, I try to channel her individuality, fun and flare.”

Track of the day is a throwback and not just in the title '1974' but in the style from that period cultivated by Jan Garbarek and Keith Jarrett. A handsome, optimistic, anthemic theme lies at the heart of the track led by the expressive tenor saxophone sound of Andy Sheppard making stately progress as the long-running Espen Eriksen trio expertly accompany him. This live track features on new album In The Mountains (their first live album) which is released today.
