Suffering from acute fear of missing out? There is a medicine for FOMO some chemists know. Laura Jurd's band Dinosaur are fairly impossible to categorise so I'll not bother even trying and wasting my time and yours reading but do ingest a stream from last night instead. Out of the Chaos Collective, the trumpeter as a composer and improviser is the most innovative player in a style domain, ''Dinosaurian'' shall we call it (the jury is out on that one), that walks an individual line in terms of UK jazz since Kenny Wheeler left us. Last night Dinosaur streamed from Ronnie Scott's. If you have a priority list for must-hear jazz and feel the need to really be on top of things then reserve some listening and don't forget the thinking time afterwards. A fiery brew that represents a leap of the imagination it's Jurd with her partner pianist Elliot Galvin bassist Conor Chaplin and drummer Corrie Dick. They are in their prime. SG
