There's wonderful life and vitality here and the recording quality is clean and immediate. Drawn from the upcoming October release of a newly remastered new reissue of The Joe Harriott Quintet Swings High (1970 Melodisc release, recorded three years earlier), with alto influencer Harriott it's Phil Seamen on drums, Stu Hamer on trumpet, Pat Smythe on piano and Coleridge Goode on double bass.

The Harriott composition also appears zestily much earlier on 1960 Jazzland LP Southern Horizons which Coleridge Goode also appeared on as did Shake Keane.
